Just finished this wonderful book
of Fry’s. His style is funny, witty and light and had me writing lists of music that I must try to find copies of and have a listen. I’m not a terribly knowledgeable classical music person and felt that this plugged many of the huge holes I had without sending me to sleep or putting me off by pretentious snobbery about what type of music is better. Highly recommend it! Now if he’d only write one about the visual arts, I could remedy my education in yet another field where I’m woefully inadequate.
